Patient Friendly Accreditation

• helps enthusiasts spread their enthusiasm to others
• sustains motivation; the award is reviewed giving an opportunity to reflect on progress
• publicly recognises the achievements of staff improving their services
• is about demonstrating through practice and understanding, not through paper work.

Teams which have achieved the Baseline Assessment Criteria can apply for the status of ‘working towards patient friendly accreditation'. Then, when they are ready, they can apply to be fully accredited.
