A health care team which decides to complete a Patient Friendly Portfolio can claim the status of ‘working towards Patient Friendly Rrecognition'. The practice or department can then display certificates showing their commitment to staff and patients. These serve to remind staff and demonstrate to patients that the team is committed to improving patients' experience. A practice or department which is working towards Patient Friendly Recognition can ask to be assessed for Level one or full recognition as soon as it has the evidence that it meets all the assessment criteria in its portfolio.
